September 15, 2009

ATLANTA (Sept. 16, 2009) – State Sen. Tommie Williams (R-Lyons) issued the following statement today following Eric Johnson’s decision to step down from his Senate seat to focus on running for governor.

“Eric has served the people of Georgia with excellence and professionalism during his 17-year tenure in the State Legislature. He is an honored colleague and friend to many of us in the State Senate. He has been a champion for education, reducing government waste and lower taxes. He will be greatly missed. I wish Eric all the best in his quest for the governor’s office and continuing to work for the people of Georgia in a new capacity.”
